The day has finally come; it is the day you have been waiting for for so long, it is the day that your braces come off. It is finally time to ditch the metal wires on your teeth and time to show off your wonderfully straight teeth. But first, there are a few things that you should expect.

1. Getting them off will be pain free

That’s right, we know that you struggled through eating in the beginning and that every time you had your wires changed and tightened it was crazy painful, but not this time. This time there will be no pain or discomfort and you will not need to prep for it in any way.

2. The hardware doesn’t end

While you are thrilled to have ditched the metal bars in your mouth, you still have to wear a retainer. Retainers are needed so that your teeth do not shift too much. Your retainer will feel more comfortable than your braces because it is custom-made for your mouth. Make sure to brush them and keep them clean so that your mouth can stay healthy.

3. Oral rinses

After getting your braces off a great way to keep your teeth healthy is to use an oral health rinse. Special rinses with fluoride can help strengthen your teeth and remove any bits of trapped food.
